Fairmeadow Update 8.16.2020
Greetings Fairmeadow Community:
Monday, August 17th is our first day of school through distance learning! It has come to my attention that although all Fairmeadow teachers sent their families a Schoology message on Friday and Saturday indicating the Zoom link needed for Monday morning, parents may not have received the Schoology notification in their personal email inboxes. Therefore, if you haven't already done so, please login to Schoology and check your messages. All parents and students should have a message from their teacher indicating the Zoom link needed to "meet" with their teacher throughout each day.
Please make sure your child(ren) get plenty of rest tonight and eat a healthy breakfast before signing on to their class Zoom by 8:30 AM. Thank you in advance for taking the time to practice signing in to your Schoology page and your child's Schoology page, to find important information about your child's class and teacher. I'd also like to draw your attention to our Zoom Guidelines and Norms that are still applicable when school starts.
A huge shout out goes to all of the parent volunteers who helped organize and put together all of the student bags of materials last week. We could not have pulled off making over 400 bags of materials without their helping hands and support of our PTA. In addition, to our very own front office staff (Alicia, Mary Ann, and Andrea) for helping to distribute materials on the hottest days of the week!
For those who were unable to drive through last Thursday and Friday to pick up student materials, please email me so we can coordinate a day and time. We will practice social distancing and contactless protocols.
Mark your calendars for BTSN (Back to School Night), which is Tuesday, August 18th. Grades K-2 will sign into a Zoom link provided by your child's teacher at 5:30-6:30 PM, while grades 3-5 will sign into a Zoom link provided by your child's teacher at 6:45-7:45 PM.
Remember, this is the very first time we are all experiencing our first day of school with the use of a technological device and screen. Give yourself and others the patience and grace we all need right now. Even though we can't physically be with each other tomorrow, this is still an exciting time! I am finding myself experiencing the first day jitters, as the first day of school is one of the most fun and happiest days of the year! I am positive this will be the most memorable "first days" of school ever for all of us! Not to mention all of the odd weather we've had the last few days!
